I love to visit other churches and see what their spaces look like. Scroll through the pics above of the Saddleback Youth Area at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California.
This place was loaded with creativity and intentionality. Indoors and outdoors, there were spaces for youth to hang out, engage in converstations and have fun!
Their outdoor space included a skate park, and a food area where they served snacks.
Their indoor space had places to hang out such as pool tables, fooseball tables, and video games. Sofas created smaller nooks where kids could sit and chat. The indoor food area included a place where they could sit an eat.
Their signs included their mission statement, and were intentional about their values. Even the floors communicated, “Everyone is welcome”, and “Nobody is Perfect”.
The Saddleback youth area creates environments for kids to connect with each other and with their leaders. It is relevant to the culture and the people there made you feel welcome.
