Before Monsters University was released, this display was up in the lobby of the movie theatre.  Kids of all ages wanted to get their picture taken in the photo spot.  Of course people would share their pictures with friends on social media.  Disney knew this cardboard display would be an interactive way for people to get in on the action and help Disney “advertise” the up and coming movie.

Churches could use this same idea.  Just about every phone comes equipped with a camera so people are snapping pictures all the time.  What creative ‘photo spot’ can you create in your kids area?  Be sure to include the logo of your Kids Ministry so people will know where the picture was taken.

photo spot

We have used photo spots for various events at our church.  Mother’s day is a great time to put up a photo backdrop and allow families to take family photos for mom.  We have also had photo spots at our family events.  We do a Gingerbread Party, a Princess Party and a Lego Party each year.  Our photo spots have a photographer at each event so that everyone can be in the photo and we can send them a link where they can download their pictures.

Thanks Carolyn, we have a 2nd campus in a theatre and they are now giving us all their kids movie displays. I just received the RIO display this week and am taking off the words I don’t want and putting our VBS info on it (since it fits with the Weird Animals VBS theme). I’m going to encourage the kids to get their picture done so that others will see the info about the camp. We are very excited to have these displays to use. I have the LEGO movie display in our games room with our Lego tables! Thanks for sharing!
